Through The Dark Wood is an independent publication launched in November 2025. It is owned and operated by D.P. O'Neill, who is a Reformed Baptist Christian, has a Master of Arts degree in Christian and Classical Studies, and is currently pursuing a certificate in Biblical languages. Prior to his theological journey, D.P. was a Division 1 baseball player and served 6 years in the SOF community before getting administratively separated for refusing the covid vaccine.

The inspiration for the site

Midway in our life's journey, I went astray

from the straight road and woke to find myself

alone in a dark wood. How shall I say

what wood that was! I never saw so drear,

so rank, so arduous a wilderness!

Its very memory give a shape to fear.

Death could scarce be more bitter than that place!

But since it came to good, I will recount

all that I found revealed there by God's grace.
